It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our founder, John Beale, who has passed away peacefully in his sleep.
John was a giant of the mail-order world in the eighties and beyond and had a strong influence on High Street retailing. He was above all a great innovator, responsible for starting many vibrant and successful businesses including Early Learning Centre, Past Times and Pia among others.
In 2002 he set-up Museum Selection and Pia followed by Culture Vulture in 2008, all of which he continued to run until 2019.
We will miss John’s unerring support and positivity, his charm, his wit and his intelligent mind. John was much loved by friends, colleagues and family and will be missed by all.
