What's the best way to care for my Pia jewellery?

Get the most from your Pia jewellery with the tips below:
  • Protect your jewellery from scratching and tangling by storing each piece separately in a soft jewellery roll.
  • Silver tarnishes in air, particularly in hot and humid weather. Remove light tarnish with a silver polishing cloth and heavier discolouration with a silver dip.
  • Never let perfume or cosmetic sprays get onto your jewellery.
  • Avoid contact with chlorinated or salt water and household cleaning products.
  • Sudden temperature changes can damage certain gemstones.

How do I know which ring size to buy?

At Pia we use UK ring sizes. Most of our rings come in sizes L,N,P,R and T, however some styles vary and can be available in a K or S.

Top tip: always measure your finger at room temperature. If the conditions are too cold your finger will be smaller; if too hot your finger will be larger.

You can measure your finger in two different ways:

Measuring circumference

  • Use a measurng tape no wider than 2cm. (Do not use a piece of string or thread as this will follow the contours of your finger too closely and record an incorrect size.)
  • Measure the circumference of your finger by wrapping the tape around your finger, ensuring it slides easily over the knuckle. Using a pen, mark the tape at the point where it overlaps.
  • Now measure the length in millimetres from the start of the tape to the pen mark, using a ruler. Use this measurement and the chart below to see whether we stock a ring to fit your size.

Measuring diameter

(This method only works if you have a ring that already fits the same finger.)
  • Measure across the middle of the ring, between the inside edges, with a ruler (in millimetres).
  • Use this measurement with the information in the chart below to determine whether we stock a ring to fit your size.
Alternatively, you can use our ring size diagram to match an existing ring against. Print out the ring size diagram here and see which size most closely matches it. (You will need Adobe Acrobat to view this file.)
Important: please ensure that your printer is set to print without scaling, otherwise the sizes will not be accurate.

My Pia watch is too big. Can I adjust the bracelet?

It is possible to adjust the length of our Sterling Silver bracelets watches

To adjust the strap on these models:
  • You can remove up to two end links. These are the rectangular open links at the ends of the watch, not the solid links.
  • Ease open the adjuster links using the side of a metal nail file.
  • Close links by pressing the open side against a hard, purpose-built cutting surface such as a chopping board.

How do I know which glove size I need?

Glove sizes refer to the circumference of your hand in inches.

Measure around your hand at the fullest part (usually across the knuckles), excluding the thumb.

I have sensitive ears, can I wear your earrings?

All our solid gold earrings can be classed as hypoallergenic. We cannot guarantee all our earrings are hypoallergenic as some of them are silver-plated base metal (usually brass). There are also some occasions where people are allergic to sterling silver. However, our products are nickel free. We cannot guarantee they are made in a nickel free environment, as these are very rare. In some cases, sterling silver jewellery made in a ‘normal’ environment can sometimes cause hypersensitive people to have an allergic reaction. For hygiene reasons we regret that earrings for pierced ears are non-returnable.
